Self Storage FAQ

Why don't you have 24-hour access?  Access hours are 6AM to 10PM daily. Limiting the hours for tenant access increases the security of this facility. Only tenants and management are allowed in the storage area.Tenants have to enter the gate to gain access to their personal unit. Each tenant has their own unique passcode.

Why would I need climate control?  Your items are protected from weather extremes, reducing deterioration caused by Florida humidity. By use of an interior hallway entrance, these units have less dust accumulation and are insulated from the outside conditions. Climate-controlled units are ideal for storing personal or business records, electronic equipment, furniture, antiques and clothing.

Is there pest control?  Yes. 43rd Street Self Storage realizes that pests will often find their way into even the cleanest places. A monthly preventive pest control is applied to the outside of the units, as well as after each tenant has moved out.

Are there discounts available?  Yes. 43rd Street Self Storage gives discounts for long-term storage. Please call for the discount rates and specials.

What sizes are available?  There are over 547 storage units available for rent. They range in size from 5 x 5 to 12.5 x 50.

I don't know what size I would need. Can you help me?  Yes. The management at 43rd Street Self Storage will work with you to determine the right size. Our space estimator can help. We will be glad to help you determine what size you need.

What payment options do you offer?  We accept the major credit cards, checks, or cash. Automatic payment from credit cards can be arranged to make payment for your storage easier. Pay Online option is now available.

Can I pay for my unit over the telephone?  You will need to visit the facility to lease your unit and make the initial payment. After that, you may call to make payments via credit card or check card. You will need to complete a credit card authorization charge form.

Do you sell moving supplies?  Yes. We sell boxes of various sizes, wrapping paper, bubble wrap and tape to help you organize your storage space more efficiently.

Do you have carts I can carry my items with?  Yes. There are carts and dollies, and you may pick up one up from the office.

What is the minimum time that I can store for?  The minimum rental period is 1 month.

What kind of documentation do I need to rent a unit? A valid driver's license or state ID is required.

Do you have your own movers?  Although we do not supply moving services, we can refer you to moving companies that are familiar with our facility.

How long will it take to complete my transaction on move-in day?  The entire move-in process should take less than 15 minutes. Please keep in mind that this time could vary depending on whether there are other customers ahead of you when you arrive. Mornings are usually the slowest period of the day while afternoons are busier.

What are your hours of operations?  Office hours are: Mon-Fri 9AM-6PM and Sat 9AM-4PM.

Do I need insurance?  43rd Street Self Storage does not provide insurance coverage on any personal property in your storage space. You may obtain your own insurance coverage through your homeowners or renters insurance. If that isn’t available, there are companies that specialize in storage facility insurance. Our staff will provide you with that information upon renting.

Is there anything I can’t put in a storage unit?  There are some items that should never be placed in a storage unit. Items include anything illegal, improperly packaged food, perishables, highly flammable materials, liquids, explosives, corrosives, hazardous or toxic waste, people or animals, and valuable antiques (unless insured).
